New Recording of Classic Hymn 'How Great Thou Art!' Brings Together Prominent Christian Worship Leaders and Artists at RCA Studio B in Nashville

Nashville, TN – [Oct. 16.2023] – In a momentous gathering of some of the most influential Christian worship leaders and recording artists, a new version of the classic hymn 'How Great Thou Art!' was recorded at the historic RCA Studio B in Nashville on October 9th and 16th. The collaborative effort of these talented musicians has resulted in a fresh rendition of the cherished hymn, now titled "Until That Day (How Great Thou Art!)."

The project features an exceptional lineup of Christian worship leaders and artists, including Matt Redman, Matt Maher, Brian & Jenn Johnson, Chris Tomlin, Ben Hastings, Pat Barrett, Naomi Raine, Mitch Wong, Blessing Offor, Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes.

The inspiring "Until That Day (How Great Thou Art!)" was jointly penned by Matt Redman and Mitch Wong. Their collaboration brings a fresh perspective to a beloved classic while preserving the hymn's timeless message of praise and adoration for the Almighty. 

This recording holds the distinction of being the first new version of "How Great Thou Art!" officially approved for use by the Stuart Hine Trust, emphasising the care and reverence with which it was created.

Furthermore, all royalties generated by "Until That Day (How Great Thou Art!)" will be directed towards aiding those in need in the region of Ukraine where Stuart Hine, the original author of the hymn's English lyrics, served as a missionary. This philanthropic endeavor pays tribute to the hymn's enduring legacy and the commitment to Christian service that inspired it.

Matt Redman is a highly respected worship leader, celebrated for his timeless anthem "10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)." Matt hails from the UK and is one of the co-writers of the song Until That Day (How Great Thou Art!) Matt has also co-produced the new recording.

Matt Maher is known for the beloved songs "Lord, I Need You," and "Your Grace Is Enough" amongst so many others. Matt is a prominent artist celebrated for blending profound lyrics with contemporary music, making his worship anthems accessible to diverse audiences.

Brian & Jenn Johnson are founders of Bethel Music, Brian and Jenn Johnson are influential worship leaders known for "Goodness of God," a powerful song that has touched countless lives and their new song "holy Forever' amongst a host of others.

Chris Tomlin is a prolific artist. Chris has left an indelible mark on worship with classics like "How Great Is Our God." His dedication to magnifying God's greatness and grace is evident in his music.

Ben Hastings is a Northern Irish singer songwriter. Raised on the streets of Belfast but spending the better part of his twenties in Sydney, Australia where he wrote many songs including “So Will I (100 Billion X)' with Hillsong United.

Pat Barrett is best known as the songwriter for the band Housefires, Pat is a worship leader at Grace Midtown in Atlanta, GA. With songs such as “Build My Life” and “Good Good Father."

Naomi Raine serves as a Worship Pastor at Fresh Start Christian Center in Mount Vernon, NY. As part of Maverick City Music, Naomi has earned multiple awards including, Billboard Music Awards, Dove Awards, Stellar Awards, and a Grammy award. She is featured on songs such as “Story I’ll Tell,” and the award-nominated “Jireh,” and “Promises.”

Mitch Wong is an Australian-born GRAMMY® award-winning songwriter and worship leader residing in Nashville with his wife, Steph. He began writing songs as a teenager and quickly developed an obsession for it, captivated by the miracle of how atmospheres can shift, lives can change, and faith can break out at the sound of music, melody, and a message. Mitch is one of the co-writers of this new version of Until That Day (how Great Thou Art!

Blessing Offor speaks to experiences of struggle, triumph, life, and love from a distinctive perspective as a Nigerian-born, Connecticut-raised, and Nashville-based singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Exhibiting virtuosic piano ability, honest songwriting, and a showstopping voice, his musical fluency and creative foresight are unmatched only made more inspiring by his journey.

Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes: Known for "The Blessing" this husband-and-wife team passionately lead worship at The Belonging church in Nashville, TN. They have a heart for Europe, having been on tour recently with Martin Smith (Delirious) creating powerful and intimate experiences that connect people to God's presence around the world.
