London's Royal Albert Hall premieres the brand new How Great Thou Art! (Until That Day) overture from Bj Davis and Dr. Luke Gambill.
A meeting with Michael Andrews, the conductor of the All Souls Orchestra in 2023 birthed the idea to partner with the orchestra as part of the 75th Anniversary of How Great Thou Art!
Their annual Prom Praise event gathers 5,000 in the hall itself and is live-streamed around the world reaching hundreds of thousands more. 2024 was going to feature 'Chariots of Fire' and the remarkable work of the missionary and Olympic runner Eric Liddell.
The Stuart Hine Trust needed to work with the orchestra to deliver a special overture. Friends of the Trust, Bj Davis, from Tampa Florida and Dr. Luke Gambill from Chattanooga Tennessee worked together to compose this stunning work.
On May 4th 2024 the All Souls Orchestra and the 400 strong choir, alongside the pipe organ of the Royal Albert Hall under the conductorship of Michael Andrews and with the beautiful voice of Natasha Da Costa, premiered this remarkable work.

“I approached this special orchestration asking how can I help tell this story? What flowed was my vision of Stuart Hine taking in the awesome wonder of the Carpathian mountains. What gushed forth from his pen at that moment would ring across the world as powerful today as in that moment when we wrote those words, "Then sings my soul...how great Thou art!”
May this new version fill our hearts with wonder too as we look to the Lord and sing our praises to Him!
Introducing composer Bj Davis and choir arranger Dr. Luke Gambill
Bj Davis is a film, TV, and media composer for clients including Netflix, Amazon and Disney. He lives in Tampa, Florida, USA where he also serves as resident composer and music director at Bell Shoals Church.
Dr. Luke Gambill is a multiple Dove Award nominee and recipient with over 25 years of experience in Christian music. He has excelled as a Worship Leader, Producer, and Professor, collaborating with renowned artists such as Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, and Paul Baloche. Luke is based in Cleveland, TN, USA.
